The videos I’ve seen don’t move like a missile. Maybe it’s a probe from an alien civilization. That is more likely than it containing alien beings with Einstein’s theory of relativity. The distance between worlds would require speed of light travel and time stands still for those traveling near that speed. Whatever knowledge they obtain might be obsolete by the time they got back. Kardashev’s scale of civilizations would probably include hybrid beings with a long lifespan for this to be feasible. Oh boy! I knew I should stay out of this thread! My apologies. The government could easily answer the question, if they have physical evidence of something not made on earth like it is rumored they should release it.

Inre the cockpit video, maybe it's a Russian hypersonic missile, but the air force doesn't want to admit the Ruskies are ahead of us.

The US military releases evidence of Russian superior technology they don't want to admit Russia has.

I thought the event and possibly the video was already leaked to the public.

There's one "explanation" for one visit to Earth, as outlined in an OUTER LIMITS episode. A monstrous alien arrives in the old west of 1872 and adopts human form to grant some cowboys superpowers which causes mayhem. His final observations spoken in an "old west" diction and tone:

"You know, we may look different, but your people and mine got alot more in common than you think. We're both conquerors, boy. We're just alittle better at it than you. If a planet looks like it's gonna be trouble down the line, why, we just destroy it then and there. Before it poses a threat. That's my job. Scout ahead. Assess the threat.
You see the fate of a world isn't determined by its best examples, but by its worst. It takes a few to destroy the many. Especially when even the best of you can be dragged down into the mire.
Judging from your example, brother against brother, friend against friend, you people have such a potential for violence, for shear unvarnished wickedness, I've got every confidence you'll destroy yourself before you build your first interstellar engine.
We got nothing to fear from you."

The Pentagon released the videos to the public to boost support for the Space Force. Its nothing short of propaganda.

The NY Times reported on all of this in December 2017:

Trump announced "Space Force" on June 18, 2018.

Close enough. Why is this news today if its three years old?

It's not. Go back to the lead story at the start of the thread.

Sorry I posted a bit lazily -- I should have said something like the NY Times reported on some of this in 2017, etc. I remember thinking at the time that the released vids seemed uncannily like the radar room scenes in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". I've wondered since the release of the vids if Spielberg was given permission to view them back in the day before he made the film?

Doubt it. For one, it does not look like a missile, and there is no exhaust plume of any kind. Also, would it not be catastrophic level International news that Russians launched an advanced cruise missile (powered by nuclear engines, btw) into US airspace? Nope, not plausible. Not to mention I think the pilots would be baseline sane enough to be able to recognize a missile profile as opposed to what we actually see in the instrument recordings.

Also those videos were all just easily discounted so there's still no proof.

Link please.

I posted the video that debunks the latest UFO videos. They're actually other jets and weather balloons.

Utterly silly, and I do not need to view the video that makes that absurd claim to be 1000% certain of that fact. Allow me to illustrate, and then to press you to follow through on your convictions if indeed you are so certain of them, to not let you off your proclamation hook.

How fast does a modern US fighter fly? Lets assume at sub-sonic speeds. 500 or 600 miles an hour. How fast does a weather balloon fly? Case closed.

Another fighter? Tied into the weather balloon angle, to place additional unnecessary nails in that hokum...

... Are you telling me that a professionally trained fighter pilot with perfect vision and years of training as well as operational combat experience *cannot* actually identify another fighter? Really?!? Absurd. Nevermind a weather balloon! That somehow keeps pace with and then out-flies fighter jets.

That's on the same level as a Project Mogul balloon crashing at such a sharp angle and with such velocity so as to leave debris over 3/4 of a mile in the desert.

:/

Back to the fighter pilots unable to identify basic shapes... so do you really believe that? Really? Ok. Then I fully expect you to meet with the fighter pilots - the US Navy (and ultimately Air Force) officers concerned - and demand their expulsion from the service. These officers are obviously spectacularly unqualified to fly US skies and protect US citizens. They should have their careers ended immediately. Do you not agree? Will you not do that?

I suspect you will not. And you will not because the idea that these military officers are THAT dumb, delusional, physically incapable, or gullible is simply an argument that makes it easier to dismiss phenomena that make people uncomfortable. Just an argument.

Aren't most military tech automated nowadays? How brilliant do you have to be to fly a jet? You can be educated and dumb as a log. Ive seen it in many professions from lawyers to doctors. You can have a brilliant mind but be totally gullible. More importantly most people aren't critical thinkers. The videos were debunked, plain and simple.

In fairness, I did (eventually smile ) watch the first debunk video, and I found the commentary to be interesting. Maybe compelling.

The correct comparative test (besides how fast is the object actually travelling...) would be to confirm a bird in flight, at that altitude, and to then train fighter equipment upon it in the same way, in a control study, and see what it looks like.

Just speaking upon the first video, the locked target does not appear to be maneuvering beyond travelling in a straight line. The debunker does not calculate how fast the contact is travelling; I assume that is possible given the data available. That would be a compelling bit of data to consider.

Internet ads suck, and prevent me from viewing the second debunk video. But the third one, I'm not buying it. The debunker's own control videos showing debris breaking apart in the atmosphere is different from the objects the pilots are tracking in the third video. There is no debris. There does not appear to be any breakdown of the object... breakdown which is clearly visible in his (smarmy/condescending) control shots.

Does not appear the same.

Also, gimbal rotation would rotate the camera, which means the entirety of the image - including background - would rotate, would it not? The object is rotating relative to the frame and the background. And yes, object shape is kind of important - that was a dumb statement by the debunker, that shape did not matter.

EDIT: An additional point of logic. Would a pilot not be able to discern a general trajectory of an object falling to the Earth? Would such a thing not be somewhat obvious? In the video, the object looks like it is flying level, not in an arc however shallow.

He says there's a fleet of them, but we only see one which is so perfectly centered, makes you wonder if it's some kind of echo of his own equipment. Too bad they don't show the video of his approach, and veering off or losing the object. Maybe it was beamed up to the mother ship (might as well add matter-transmission if you believe it's aliens).

I agree with that. More complete context would be helpful.

I want to believe. (I think) I could be swayed, just need clear evidence. Actual clear up close pictures or videos. Better yet presented to the citizens for public viewing.

Perhaps you will, along with everyone else for a brief moment when the aliens clear off the dust and debris from our nearest orb. You'll flash on Alec Guinness saying "That's no Moon..." as they activate the ancient Death Star and destroy Earth.
