Portland Protestors Play Star Wars “Imperial March” While Being Tear Gassed By Federal Agents

Which music would you have selected to be performed?

Gerald Fried's action/fight music from the "Friday's Child" episode of STAR TREK might've proved 'fascinating'.

I'm sure someone (many?) who know more will contradict me, but I think that The Imperial March is the perfect choice for the situation, from the purely political / motivational view point. How many other widely recognisable tunes can so successfully convey the protesters' message, that they are the good guys, beset by an overwhelming and tyrannical enemy?

Let's agree to disagree, please. Dogmatic statements tend to be opposed, tempers rise, and then threads get locked.

No. I don't try to change the meaning words, contrary to the post modernist crowd.

Speak for yourself, son. Facts interest me, not feels.

I AM speaking facts. On this forum, people (speaking generally) have a tendency to issue dogmatic statements about matters that are open to debate. Other people, sure as night follows day, propose diametrically opposed views. When this happens, tempers almost always rise, insults are hurled, and then threads are locked.

I'm asking you, and I'm asking EVERYONE on this thread, to moderate their tone, before the thread gets moderated for us.

On this topic in particular, given the fractured nature of modern American politics, the likelihood of the thread going thermonuclear is very high. If people don't keep calm, and refrain from pejoratives, that probability becomes 100%.

Pretty sure that's how the Empire viewed the Rebels.

@ Mr. David Ferstat: No. You are responding to a tendencious article that was posted by Mr. Zardoz. Not facts.

I 'm pretty sure you won't be going "thermonuclear", nor will I. Nonetheless, this is a film music board. Enough with the politics, please. Best case scenario? The moderator will close this down, close it down good. wink

I'd blast the rioters with the theme from Patton. If I remember correctly, when US forces were trying to smoke out Noriega a few decades ago they did the same thing.

When you say "rioters," I assume you mean the federal thugs who are illegally occupying a city?

No, but you already know that of course.
