Chris Malone told us in the Ennio Morricone R.I.P.thread that he was working on a Morricone cd when he heard the terrible news.
I wonder which score it is? I don´t think he will be able to tell us, as many labels seem to want to hold on the name of the releases until they release them. "What dreams may come" would be a dream come true. I also would like new editions of La Venexiana, I Promessi Sposi and Gli Occhiali d´Oro.
What do you think? Any guesses or desires?

Sorry if my question sounds stupid on this board but for which label(s) is Chris Malone currently working? Is he working free-lance for different ones? I just found this page:

http://www.malonedigital.com/

Anyway I would rather bank on an American soundtrack rather than ROMA COME CHICAGO or LA VENEXIANA, don't you think? Regarding GLI OCCHIALI D'ORO, I also think it's Claudio Fuiano's "territory". By the way, do you really think this score needs an expansion?

I don´t have a clue concerning labels or rights. Chris has done some cds for Quartet Records in the recent past.

GLI OCCHIALI D`ORO is a favourite of mine. I have it only on a cdr and the cd is very hard to find. I don´t know if it needs an expansion, but it´s a very beautiful score, similar to OUATIA and CINEMA PARADISO, that I am sure will attract many buyers. I also believe that the John Barry fans will be delighted. There is a John Barry feeling in some of the music in my opinion.

Chris Malone remastered THE THING for Quartet, so he's probably working on THE ISLAND for the same label. A remastered reissue would be highly appreciated!

That would be cool JC.
That Island End Title is to die for. One of EM's best.
And it's pretty scarce these days, so would fill a nice gap in the market.

I would be more happy with some more melodic scores of him. The Island has a very nice main theme - but the rest is mostly suspense music which I'm not that fond of. (And that's the case with most of his American movies. I never understood the hype for The Thing either. It's not a score I would listen to frequently...)

Anyway, I'm sure there's still many unreleased score by the Maestro, so I'm looking forward to them.

As for me, I'd love to have a remastered/expanded CD of THE SCARLET AND THE BLACK (1982). This is an excellent score and I must say I'm surprised it hasn't been released on CD after all these years. But maybe the tapes are lost...who knows!?

I remember being in 'Movie Boulevard' Leeds in the late nineties and the owners Robert and Richard raving about this CD.
" Do you have "The Golden Spectacles ?"... you gotta have "The Golden Spectacles !"
BTW I was wearing a pair at the time.

Oh, and they managed to sell me a dozen John Barry CD's......I miss those days.

Hi everyone! It was more just the shock of opening the FSM Board at the exact moment I was starting to listen back to work for the day and seeing the terrible news. I thought, “No way!!”

I’m sure I’ve said too much already saying what I did but my lips are sealed—or rather my fingers won’t be revealing anything else.

Keep listening and stay safe!

Chris

Great interview Chris on the Goldsmith Odyssey Podcast. A bit short though @ 3.5 hours. LOL.
