Keep up the good work, boys! smile

P.S. Malgré un océan de distance, votre colis m'est parvenu en moins de temps que des U.S.A. Vitesse Grand V! smile

Glad you benefited from this sale! I wasn’t up early enough and missed some Delerue titles. But glad you got some. smile

Thanks buddy. I'm particularly happy with snagging the Morricones, especially "Night Flight from Moscow" which is now going for insane money on the secondary market, but also thrilled with the Sarde and, finally, Fitzwilly!

A flash sale from two weeks ago that we're only hearing about now and 95% of the first post is in French.

Nothing fishy there.

Shhh! It's a secret!

I thought the Music Box gents would appreciate (and btw I'm saying si and not she in appreciate) a post in their native tongue.

Why did I get an e-mail from Music Box back then saying that the sale was canceled due to some server/Internet issues?

Indeed! And then, they sent a second e-mail. Apparently, their server couldn't handle the traffic, so they decided to cancel, and then start over by putting the titles up, a few at a time, over the weekend.

It vexes me. I'm terribly vexed. (okay, not that much).

Haha! I was also quite vexed, until the sale was on again considering I managed to snag five CDs! BTW, that took a bit of strategy because, again, the first few minutes were very vexing. In the end, it meant pennies on the dollar for titles that command bat-shite money on the secondary market. So, understandably, I'm quite happy about the outcome.

I've been hoping to find an affordable copy of the expanded Sarde/The Bear for years. Someday...

I'll keep my eyes peeled. Wonderful score.

Please don't worry about it. If it were really a high priority for me, I would have snapped it up when it was first released, or spent the extra sometime since. But thank you for the thought.

Check! Nevertheless, I'll let you know if I spot a reasonably priced copy. Helping fellow enthusiasts finding a prized soundtrack is a big part of the fun of collecting. smile

I agree, it's fun helping folks out.

The sale was only advertised on MB's Facebook page where I saw teh ad. I missed the second part where titles were added gradually. I was after Delerue's Conformiste. Before the sale started I went to each album's page to enter my email address for restock notice - I ended up getting 3 emails for that one, House on Carrol St and Napoleon. They were gone by the time I got there. But I have a feeling that some of these might get a re-issue at some point in teh future - we'll see.

I was after Bears too but managed to find one earlier this month on eBay from a seller out west. They have some great buys:

It's actually not expanded, since it features the same program as the original album:

https://www.musicbox-records.com/en/cd-soundtracks/6326-l-ours-the-bear.html

"Assembled by Édouard Dubois and supervised by the composer, this newly remastered album features the same program as the previous vinyl and CD editions released in 1988; but rather than presenting this content as suites, the album offers new editing choices and a new order to ensure the best possible listening experience."

With no extra music from or intended for the film, considering what the bonus tracks are:

"The album also includes bonus tracks with previously unreleased variations on Tchaikovsky’s theme, recorded by Philippe Sarde at the time of the production, and played by great soloists such as Keith Harvey (cello), Michael Davis (violin), John Williams (guitar) and Hubert Laws (flute)"

It's still a great release, the new sequencing makes the music sound very different and absolutely great.

But you can program the older CD in the same order.
