That is awesome, and a total surprise. I'd assumed the tapes were lost. (I've actually seen that film twice in the theater. It doesn't improve on repeated viewing, but it's always a pleasure to see Robert Forster in anything, and he is greatly missed.)

You'd be surprised what tapes aren't lost... What I (we) would give to lift the secrecy veil that has to be these days... I blame the 4 + year wait for the Sony ST:TMP back when as the culprit for announcing or revealing anything! Nice to hear there is hope at least, thank you Jeff *cough* Shamus*ahem

You'd be surprised what tapes aren't lost... Alternate takes from "Cyborg" and "Leviathan"?

You'd be surprised what tapes aren't lost... I'm NOT surprised. Universal's master tapes on Bernard Herrmann's Fahrenheit 451 are held captive until year 2066 when Robert Townson will produce a 100-year anniversary soundtrack album.

I demand nothing less than a new recording of Bernard Herrmann's never-composed posthumous score for The Seven-per-cent Solution, created with the aid of a seance and an Ouija board. I'm waiting...

I demand nothing less than a new recording of Bernard Herrmann's never-composed posthumous score for The Seven-per-cent Solution, created with the aid of a seance and an Ouija board. I'm waiting... That's actually happening....I won't disclose who, but they are also restoring the stereo, complete score for May's THE ROAD WARRIOR. Gonna be a sweet Black Friday....our secret Scott, nuh?

Ten years ago, I anticipated The Don Is Dead coming forth via Varese Sarabande when they were issuing a line of Goldsmith soundtracks from Universal. Lonely Are The Brave (July 2009), The Spiral Road (March 2010), Freud (December 2009) & A Gathering of Eagles (October 2010) were all issued within an 18-month period ... then ... 1 year ... 2 years ... 3 years ... oh, The List of Adrian Messenger finally gets released in February 2014 (after years in a can) to coincide with Jerry's birth month. I can't help but think, though, that it could've been unveiled in February 2011 - just 4 months subsequent from Gathering. Imagine sitting on Messenger for 3 years simply awaiting an anniversary date. Now imagine The Don Is Dead as a 2011 Varese Club CD which never happened... ... until now ... and on Intrada instead. Goldsmith fans rejoice! This Don is alive and well ... AND will arise before we ourselves are dead.

His tenure ended before he could reach the 70s...

Tell Benny he doesn't hafta give his 100%. 50% of the success on 7% will come from his music. What % of this score will surface on a Stylotone 45 r.p.m.?
