I get so confused with all the " books" - is this the one by the italian writer who was allowed to spend time with ennio, and has just this year been published in english? Or a different one?

Yes, i didnt know what it was called but Roy spoke highly of it during the video conference we had where we excluded McGann ( because hes a stirrer who creates excessive threads to undermine the original)!!

You're in good company Thomas. Sounds like Title Envy to me. And Roy's never set foot in ANY footy thread!!! I'd never join a club that would have me as a member

Minor query, probably, but if there's no point reading about music, why are we all posting?

Just got this thing yesterday. It is a coffee table book - very heavy! But it is now the ultimate discography book, not in the sense it has every version of each title (although it attempts to include every "style" each release came in) but that it includes one example of every single release. For example LUI PER LUI where this title only came out with a couple cues on a Cam library LP - they show you the cover to that library LP! Plus author Maurizio Baroni reaches deeper into his collection for artifacts like signed sheet music, test pressings and a superb set of photographs, many full paged, most of which have been unseen. And as an intro every major film maker talks about his relationship with Ennio including Montaldo, Tarantino, Bertolucci, Cavani, Petri, Tornatore, Carpenter, etc. each with special insight. Then instrumentalists and actors and anyone who worked with him. The color is great and replaces any illustrated discography that tried to do the same thing in the past. Downside? I don't know....not a lot to read outside of the many pages of intros.
