Your digital files will NOT survive CME's or EMP's. Hold onto your physical copies!

Depending on the causes, one's music collection might be the least of your concerns....but since CDs last 100 years( wink ), I'm sure Con Edison will have the electric infrastructure restored by then.

During first week of October there will be last purge selling, mostly unsold titles and rest of non-listed titles and that´s end.

Now I am really happy with CDs, which left in my soundtrack collection.
There is "the heart" of my love for screen music & soundtracks.

Also still open to new composers and soundtrack CD discoveries , but will be more carefull with selections and buying, no shopping sprees

I've just taken 10 CDs off my shelves at random

OHMSS (Barry) original album---Can go. Replaced by expanded edition.
Red King, White Knight (John Scott).....Never liked this one. It can go.
Nikita (Serra)............I have a digital download. It can go.
To The Ends of The Earth (Scott)....Keep. Good score
Blue Sun (Isham). I have a digital download. It can go.
The Thing (Morricone) Varese..........Can go. Replaced by Remastered Quartet.
Fear Is The Key (Budd)..Keep. I like Budd
Life For Rent (Dido).........Can go. Don't know why I bought it.
Visions Of Eight (Mancini). Keep. I like this one.
Romeo Is Bleeding (Isham)..........Can't remember what it sounds like. Can probably go.

So 7 out of 10 can go.

AS far as keeping copies go. In print/out of print I keep a copy unless I really hate the music. Over decades I've contributed a substantial amount of cash to the film and music industry, they can give me a little back at this point.

Hi Peter, are you selling The Thing or open to a trade.....I have a few things i can trade if you are interested. I live in Kent. email is marksweet5 at

I mentioned this in several similar threads before. I finally did my purge when I realized that as I watch my kids grow, and the world is in chaos, this media collection will not contribute any financial stability for my future. I will slowly pick through the ones that don’t have any special meaning to me and let it go. I can have maybe 10 or 15 that will completely make me happy for the rest of my life.
