They left off some of the best Johnny Douglas cues, like this one!

Also stuff in here (especially at 15:27):

Sees third thumbnail image- I didn't know Jack Kirby drew GI Joe!

In an ideal world, all of us fans would want that. I want any and all cartoon music composed by Johnny Douglas, but I still consider a small miracle that we now have an album each of music from Transformers and GI Joe, even if it's on LP. As with all the great Batman: The Animated series collections from LLL, I still pinch myself when listening to remind me that I'm not dreaming!

Amen to that Tom. I have feeling in a few years we'll have a few more things to celebrate. I know LLL has some more Batman on the way. MV has also commented that they are trying to do some of these Hasbro properties on CD - it's a matter of Hasbro letting them...according to a comment I recall MV making.

Ditto on that, also on past releases of He-Man, Voltron, RoboTech, Star Trek Animated, and Ron Jones's Superman, it's a great time to collect!

Thanks for the reminder on Ron Jones's scores for the 1988 animated Superman series, those are great!

Can you share more about album released for Voltron and Robotech? I must have missed out on those!

There have been multiple Harmony Gold releases of the Robotech soundtrack, the latest one:
    https://robotech.com/store/product/robotech-30th-anniversary-soundtrack

This was the Voltron soundtrack by John Petersen:
    https://www.amazon.com/Voltron-Defender-Universe-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B001AZS1ZK

Incidentally I remember Dan Licht telling me he ghostwrote the Voltron soundtrack...and that the theme was just "The Raiders March" upside-down! Sorry if I've ruined your childhood... (The Robotech theme is, more or less, Superman.)

The initial release from US Renditions and Harmony Gold was the 1987 album, "Robotech BGM Collection Volume 1 (Music From The Original Soundtrack)."

Then came the following as CD-only releases, each with successively more music than the previous release (and some various combinations / splittings along the way...):

    • "Robotech Perfect Collection (Music From The Original Soundtrack)"
US Renditions and Harmony Gold, 1989, 1 CD

    • "Robotech Perfect Soundtrack Album [10th Anniversary]"
Streamline Pictures and Harmony Gold, 1996, 2 CD set

    • "Robotech: The Original Soundtrack (20th Anniversary Edition)"
Harmony Gold, 2007, 2 CD set

    • "Robotech: 30th Anniversary Soundtrack"
Harmony Gold, 2015, 3 CD set

I appreciate all those links, thanks Lukas! And that is a fascinating anecdote, too - and my childhood is still totally intact! smile

I vaguely remember learning about that 1989 BGM CD release, thanks to Lukas and FSM around 1990, but I'm not sure why I never ordered it. Probably lack of funds and only having the option for mail order from SAE or Footlight Records. Good to know about that 3 CD set from 2015!

The 30th Anniversary 2015 release has the most music, but omits some of the "Robotech: The Movie" songs found on the 10th and 20th Anniversary releases (if that's of any importance to you).

Here's my thread for the 2015 track listing with notations:

So, after months of listening to the downloaded digital tracks from iTunes, I'm finally able to play the actual GI JOE LP on my new deluxe turntable. I gotta say, I think the tracks sound better listening to the LP than the digital versions, which I wonder is due to how the mastering process took place. There's a fuller sound I notice, but what I really need to do now is A/B the same tracks LP vs digital through the same speakers, but it's still interesting to note sonic differences...
