"My next TCM recommendation is like a blow from a blackjack, swift and brutal, with an equally “no messing around” title, Armored Car Robbery. This lean and mean little cinematic machine, is as efficient and meticulous as the planning of the heist itself." (More here including TCM's early Tuesday morning showtime information across the U.S.):

The caper film first laid its roots in The Asphalt Jungle previously reviewed here

The depth of its characters and their fascinating interactions as the drama builds to a cathartic resolution, is why this film has become one of America's finest cinematic achievements. The 'best laid plans' will begin on TCM following Armored Car Robbery Tuesday, September 8 at (early morning) 4:30am PST.

If you're going to post the same movies whenever they're on, you should at least write a new little description for them.
And why do I keep seeing your name in the credits for Hammer movies?

I could pretty much ask of you the same type of thing re your predictably needling responses.

I don't think I've needled you about your movie rerun listings before. Maybe I've already mentioned that a cinematographer for Hammer has the same name, which I'm sure you were aware and isn't a jab of any kind. Maybe you're talking about the last time you posted "Armored Car Robbery." After watching it, I posted my opinion which did not jibe with yours, that's hardly a crime.

No. Your opinion of a movie differing from mine is most welcome. Your dislike of a review of mine, ditto. Your association of a fine cinematographer with the same name as well... don't mind that at all. My objection to your remarks specifically concern your present and I believe past comments (or at least support of others) on how I should or should not repeat TCM listings or make new announcements or accept unfunny jokes about them. It's irritating, trivial, rude and damn close to bullying. I am posting within the guidelines of this room. How I do this is my business (unless approached by an admin) and if you don't like it KINDLY SKIP MY POSTS! Don't you have anything better to do, honestly?

I really don't recall complaining about your TV listings (maybe once years ago), and don't recall pig piling with others. If I did, or it appeared that I did, I apologize. I don't usually post in your listing threads except to comment on the movie itself.
The only reason I asked (teasingly) for a new description in this particular listing is because I still recall the disappointment when you set me up for a blackjack, but all I got was a glancing blow.

Thanks for the explanation. As you may know, I've been hammered pretty hard by others as to how I should post my TCM recommendations here. One person went so far as to drag up all of my past posts on one film (I suppose as a joke) that were long since buried and proceed to ridicule me on each and every one. After my aggressive responses to some others, I frankly didn't expect to encounter yet another from a person whose name I've seen before, seemingly in support of these pranksters. Sorry if I overreacted. As to Armored Car Robbery, Talman's viciousness after his intricately planned heist (he pursues the wife of his partner he winds up murdering), Jergens' duplicitous femme fatale, McGraw's relentless cynicism (understandable since his partner is killed in the opening robbery), events that include multiple killings out of expediency and greed, and a finale that strongly foreshadows Kubrick's The Killing, all in about 1 hour... I'll stand by my original assessment. Can you tell me more about what you were expecting?

Yeah, I remember that thread collating several TCM threads. If it was a joke, he played it with a very straight face.

I might have written a response in your earlier Armored Car Robbery TCM listing. I don't recall any viciousness. Talman doesn't enjoy killing like Cagney in "White Heat."
Talman's character is suppose to be a mastermind robber, but he only tests police response once, and apparently doesn't know about police car radios. I thought this was pretty shortsighted before the heist, and I'm just a guy in the third row. After he screws that up with a shootout getaway, the movie becomes a dragnet chase with random thieves he has no emotional connection to, including a wounded man whose fate you can guess. Talman's only "genius" is in his many contingency escape plans. That was novel and interesting.
