Does anybody else remember contributing money to a proposed documentary about Bernard Herrmann, launched as a kickstarter type of campaign by a man named Brandon Brown, if my memory is correct?

It's been at least 3 years since that campaign was launched. Right now, I feel like he has taken the money and run.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lives-of-bernard-herrmann#/

I would absolutely contact Indiegogo - he didn't raise even ten percent of what he was looking for but he sure kept the 1700 bucks he did raise. If he hasn't delivered, you all need to write Indiegogo and demand your money back - that's how it works there.

Thanks much for the help. Wow, it's been five years since this "campaign" was launched. I now feel that Brandon Brown has indeed "taken the money and run." I will contact indiegogo, but it's been so long that I've forgotten my password, and have asked them for a reset.

I've contributed to a couple of campaigns that stretched out between one and two years, but this is the first one I've been a part of that seems to have gone dead in the water.

Taking the money under false pretenses is not only illegal it's totally against their TOS - it may well be too late at this point.

I did receive a reply from Brandon Brown this evening, stating that the film is 90% complete, but moving slowly as it is self-funded due to the failure of the campaign. Brown has offered me a refund, and I am "considering my options."

I did express to him that the least he could do would be to issue annual progress reports about the film. Even hearing from him once a year might alleviate the temptation to assume the worst.

You're absolutely right - I keep doing updates constantly after every campaign has closed - mine don't fail smile but I keep everyone in the loop about which perks will ship when. You owe that to people who give you money.
