Worse still, the format that it was designed to kill off, the vinyl record, has enjoyed a resurgence, with UK sales climbing to 4.8 million last year, bringing in revenue of more than £86m
I'm surprised that Sainsbury's didn't stop selling discs years ago. Like the other supermarkets, they only really stocked new & popular & "best of" discs. I'll continue buying online, like I (mostly) have been for the last 20 years.
Hello, I'm trying to find an FSM forum post related to this topic (Vinyl / CDs).
It was by one of the semi-regular posters who works for/represents La-La-Land or Intrada or..., or it was a quote attributed to that person, and it was within the last year or so.
The statement was contrasting digital downloads, vinyl records and CDs, something along the lines of:
"...Vinyl = most difficult to make, no profit. CDs = easiest/least expensive to make, no one buys."

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I remember that quote. I feel like it was in the past few months in March or April maybe? And I am not 100% certain, but about 99% positive that it was MV from LLL that said it.
