Usually they talked with Meely Mouth or Baby Talk voices.

Georgette from THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW. Ted's girlfriend who talked like a baby.

Lou Ann Poovie, Gomer's girlfriend on GOMER PYLE USMC.

Goldie Hawn on LAUGH IN.

The Air Head co-worker in the Book Store with Ellen Degeneres on ELLEN.

Carol Kane as Andy Kaufman's foreign Air Head girlfriend on TAXI.

The dumb blond on Saturday Night Live with the Baby Talk voice, Victoria Jackson.

Bernadette on THE BIG BANG THEORY.

I guess you can throw in little Cindy from THE BRADY BUNCH. Airhead in Training?

Back in the day they seemed like such a token character like a cliche Latin Gay Man wearing a neckerchief on a Mexican Comedy show.

You sure you watched this show? She was a genius. She only sounded like she belongs in this category.

Would the character of Mallory who was Michael J. Fox's character's sister on FAMILY TIES make this list? She didn't really do the baby talk thing. If I remember correctly her and her character's boyfriend on the show weren't two of the sharpest tools in the shed.

When I saw the topic I thought kindred spirit. As this I what I usually put on dating sites, where they ask - what kind of women are you looking for?

Mary Steenburgen in Time After Time
Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny
...

Apart from not being TV characters, I don't think dimwitted is the correct description of either Film character. Certainly Amy Robbins [Mary Steenburgen] is innocent and unbelieving in Time After Time (1979) ... but given the circumstances she finds herself caught up in ... who wouldn't be?

And, far from dim, Mona Lisa Vito [Marisa Tomei] is very clever and bright in My Cousin Vinny (1992) ,,, she simply can't be bothered to keep up with Vinny's crazy antics ... but she puts him in his place when necessary.

Two films, incidentally, which I enjoy greatly ... favourites of mine,
Mitch
