As delighted as I am with what FSM put out, I would love to hear this whole score recorded anew.

I know it's an expensive venture, and that's probably why score re-recordings are on the decline, and, no, I don't have the money to fund this myself (a common retort to re-recording wish lists).

Nevertheless, may I say that it's one I would love to get recorded anew.

Cheers

Wow, was he trying to catch a train? I get the feeling that was even faster than the original Herrmann performance.

For your viewing and listening pleasure.

Salonen’s Herrmann The Film Scores CD is tops for me. He took great film scores and transformed them into concert works. Such fine interpretations of all the classic Herrmann scores. F451 is my favourite suite on that album. It’s haunting.

Yes, I agree. It’s a fine album with the F 451 suite best of all.

How is the "Prelude" in that suite? I ask because, for me, it's sort've the acid test when it comes to any & everything F451.

I'am thrilled to report that Bill Stomberg has started work on this project. He just confirmed to me via Social Media.

Bill Stomberg: Believe it or not, I've been copying parts for this whole score, On Dangerous Ground. I'm hoping to do it next after this stupid Covid shit goes away. Thanks.

It’s amazing. Salonen takes it at the perfect tempo and the sound of the strings are stunning.

Here I go again--just purchased ODG used DVD. 'S been a while since seeing it last on TCM and decided it deserves permanent availability.
