"Tenderly" always struck me as autumn-ish.

Here's one of the silliest concepts for this song: Joan Crawford singing it, albeit dubbed.

You've had it before me, but here's that particular arrangement:

...and Bert Kaempfert's arrangement of "Tenderly" also sounds a bit autumnal to me.

My music library tells me I have 499 recordings by Bert Kaempfert ...

... but Tenderly (Walter Gross) is not one of them frown Although I bought the re-issued Polydor albums, I didn't bother with the collection of singles (too much duplication) so presumably this 1961 recording will be found there.

It's a lovely song and one of my favourite versions is the 1956 duet by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.

Also from 1956 is the Chet Baker take (quartet) which is included on the John Barry album/score Playingby Heart - wonderful.

...
Then, there's Billie's version of "I'm A Fool To Want You." Pure despair...

That may be my first hearing. Excellent, indeed, though Ms. Holliday's voice is not one of my top favourites. This 1958 recording, so close to her passing, certainly conveys despair.

But, for this song, I have to return to my favourite: Frank Sinatra produced an incredible version of this gorgeous song in 1951 with Axel Stordahl and the Ray Charles Singers (a less than usual backing for him) ...

... and then in 1957 he bettered this when he recorded it under Gordon Jenkins. I'm not sure if there's a better song reading, it surpasses even Nat Cole's masterful Stardust.

Another selection: I like a lot of songs by Bobby Goldsboro and his 1968 recording of Autumn of My Life is one of his best.

Sue Raney did 2.

This I own, but haven't cracked open yet:

This raggle-spaggin'-haggle-smaggin' cd is so rare I can't find it.
