Making a claim something is "brilliant" requires some evidential analysis.

It doesn't, really. It's a pure evaluative adjective, along with good, great, wonderful, superb etc. But if you're geuinely interested in why I think it's a BRILLIANT film, click on the earlier link I provided, and run it through Google Translate.

But pleaseā€¦.stop this nonsense about objective truths in subjective evaluations.

There are "standards" and they can be evaluated objectively.

There are "standards" and they can be evaluated objectively.

There are CRITERIA one uses to evaluate, sure, but the value judgement derived from those criteria is purely subjective.

So you finding the film bad, and me finding it brilliant are both equally valid. You're wrong, of course, but that's a different story. big grin

I'll let you have the last word. I don't want to go back on your ignore list.

Actually, agreeing to disagreeing is perfectly fine by me, as I just did with Deathwalker earlier in the thread. I'm aware SOLO has its critics, and is largely considered a 'flop'. But I will be an avid defender of it for as long as I can.

It's cool. I respect that we disagree. To each their own. It's all good.

"He died New Testament, but came back Old Testament".

I would certainly have loved to see a Jesus revenge flick!
