In the meantime it has become quite obvious that they will release on CD only what in their opinion is commercially viable. Of course, Morricone sells sufficiently - so a CD (plus LP) is ok for them. But just a few days ago they have for example even released Riz Ortolani´s MONDO DI NOTTE NO. 3 - better known in the US as ECCO as there was a WB LP with this score in 1965 - only as digital download (with a few additional tracks in comparison with the old LP) in their "Mondo" series, although ECCO has never had any CD release at all till now. So this score is not commercially viable enough for Sugar/UMG/Decca! If not even the Ortolani title is worth a CD release, why then should the even more unknown IL VUOTO by Trovajoli?
No CD is fine but IL VUOTO or even Chiamate 22-22 Tenente Sheridan by Trovajoli are not even found as digital downloads. Having a download would save us from ordering the overpriced vinyl. Lately I was even quoted 25 pounds to ship a single LP from Italy to UK.
...and on a more serious note: Thanks for the info, Stefan! Looking forward to BANDITO. And hopefully more viable output from Morricone.
The latest joke by CAM Sugar is that IL BANDITO will only be a vinyl release for the Record Store Day in July And it will be much shorter than the Beat CD. Here their press release text:
"One of the very rare chances – quite possibly the only chance - to listen to the genius of Ennio Morricone engaging with the jazz musical language. His soundtrack for the film The Blue-Eyed Bandit (Il Bandito Dagli Occhi Azzurri by Alfredo Giannetti, 1980) is marked by the very singular 5/4 time which creates a relentless rhythm that perfectly matches the crime atmosphere of the film. This new edition of The Blue-eyed Bandit is part of the Morricone Segreto series by CAM Sugar and it is remastered from the original tapes preserved in the historical CAM Sugar archives. This is the first official vinyl reissue of the score since its original release in 1982 on the Cerberus label. Pressed exclusively for RSD Drops on Blue vinyl.
1. The Blue-Eyed Bandit = Citta Viva 2. Madre Assente 3. Campi Aperti E Sospesi 4. Double Face 5. Esecuzione Radiofonica 6. For Enrico, Riccardo And Roberto 7. Beneath The City Bridges = Sotto I Ponti Della Citta 8. For Dalia 9. Stranamente Di Notte 10. 4/5 11. Madre Assente 12. Finale = Stranamente, Un Giorno"
This week Decca (UMO) Classics (CAM) released six Mondo scores by Giombini, Lavagnino, Umiliani and Nino Oliviero! I'm not complaining at all, but it is odd that they are promoting a (truncated) Morricone LP release instead of about six hours of newly released music never before on CD (apart from the Umiliani).

Thanks for the info! I had read about the mondo scores by Giombini, Umiliani and Oliviero on the CAM Sugar Facebook website, but that they have now also released Lavagnino´s I TABU and even I TABU 2 (this second one was not even on LP in former times and is a world premiere) is new to me. It seems that the scores can also be found on Youtube.

I have just listened to "Sinfonia d´amore" - in my opinion the best track from the old I TABU LP- and unfortunately it has some defects and distortions in this new digital download version from Sugar/Decca. The CAM LP version which I have did sound better! It seems that the original tapes have somewhat deteriorated in the meantime - at least regarding this beautiful track which is a shame. The Main Title of I TABU on the other hand sounds much better and is ok. But the score is indeed in stereo which is a surprise as the CAM LP was of course only mono.
Finally got around to ordering I Malamondo today, so I'll look forward to that. I also ordered Atame! along with it (reasonably priced on Amazon) which I've been meaning to get for some time. I do like that score even if the director didn't apparently.
Malamondo expanded has to be wonderful. Must get that too.
Typically on Tie me up/down (atame) all it says in the spiel on website is "This remastered reissue has been produced by Claudio Fuiano, and the 12-page full-color booklet contains liner notes and track-by-track rundown analysis by Gergely Hubai."
So we know the project manager and the man who wrote on the inside cover but we don't know the specialist technician who did all the work on the actual music! Lol
Someone who has this CD can presumably find Malone's name buried somewhere and confirm he's there.
Btw cd in stock but i notice the 300 LP release is "sold out" at quartet.
Edit: Thomas i checked and Malon-ee defo did the remastering on both the CD and Lp for quartet.
