The folks at Blue Underground confirmed today that they working hard on a brand new 4K restoration of Don Taylor's film The Final Countdown (1980), which is expected to be released on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray in early 2021.

A very entertaining movie to be sure, but why can't we get a big movie like Star Trek-The Motion Picture remastered and in 4K by now?!

Paramount has plenty of money. For the cost of one ep of their streaming shows, thy could remaster TMP and the rework the entire runs of Ds9 and Voy.

They make noises about how Star Trek is a 'Crown Jewel', but they don't really show it.
