The great cinematographer Roger Deakins and his wife/collaborator James started a podcast a few months back to chat with friends and other industry vets about the creative process. There are a lot of podcasts like this but this one is interesting both in terms of offering Deakins' point of view but also because the focus isn't just on celebrities but craftspeople from up and down the credits list. They'll have Josh Brolin and Jake Gyllenhaal but also production designer Patrice Vermette and editor Joe Walker, not to mention other cinematographers. They even managed to pry time from Joel Coen.
The latest episode is an hourlong talk with Thomas Newman. This particular Newman doesn't seem to do a lot of interviews like this and it's interesting getting to hear him talk with some wind in his sails.
