Zimmer has been posting on SoMe about a collaboration with the Headspace app, creating a playlist for working and focussing. I'm not interested in downloading the Headspace app, so could anyone tell me what this playlist consists of? I've tried to google around, but found nothing.

Thor, like you I am curious what the playlist consists of. I hope someone out there can help.

I guess posting this on the Zimmer-hostile FSM board is not the best solution, but you never know.

It seems to be 85 minutes long, but no idea what's on it.

No need to generalize. I'm somewhat curious too but I'm also not about to go through great effort to find out. Would be interesting to know.

Ha, ha. No generalization, just sheer observation through 20+ years. But there's the occasoinal Zimmer fan inbetween; hoping someone has actually downloaded the app and can give us a heads-up (or Headspace-up)!

I just downloaded the app, and it was annoying, I had to add my credit card and you can't get to the list of Zimmer's choices right away. I have to listen to the entire playlist for 85 minutes and Shazam the tracks I didn't recognize.

I am about 7 minutes into the playlist and don't know any of the electronic music played so far.

I will post his choices later if I can identify all of them.

Wow, Linea. Thanks for going the extra mile!

It just seems to be just some bland electronic music by people I have never heard of (and I say that as someone who has a genuine interest in electronic music).

Seems like pure marketing from Zimmer's side, no quality music so far I would say. I doubt he picked this music himself even, but who knows.

Heck, maybe this is Hans Zimmer's own music that he specifically created for the headspace app?

In any case, Shazam can't properly identify the music. I am not sure what to do.

Edit: Yeah, this music does suck. Why would anyone listen to this instead of great ambient music for meditation.

Yep, I am guessing that this may be Zimmer's own creation.

Here is a 8 minute excerpt (bad audio and taken from around 40 minutes into the Zimmer playlist on the headspace app), I uploaded it to Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-768393213/zimmer

Do you think this is Zimmer's music, Thor? I think it actually is his music. In other words, he didn't make a playlist of others people music for the headspace app, he composed like a 85 minute suite for them it seems.

The track has been removed.

I don't think it's Zimmer's own music; from what I've read, it's supposed to be a playlist of other things.

Strange, for me it is still there.

Does this new link to the excerpt work? - https://clyp.it/tdrgs1ly

Can you identify if it is Zimmer? I thought so too (that it would be a playlist of other things), but it seems to me to be one continuous piece.

Yes, that works. No, I can't identify it as Zimmer, at least not with that sound quality, but the continous loop thing could be edited to SOUND continous. This is a mystery.

Ok. I did what I could, unless someone has any ideas what to do I will abandon this strange project.

Certainly nothing in the 85 minutes are by other well-known film composers, that's for sure since I would have identified them.

Thanks for doing it, Linae! Much appreciated. Personally, I sensed some great music in that clip you played, but I need to hear it in better sound first. Let's see if anyone else chimes in on the subject!
