Zimmer has been posting on SoMe about a collaboration with the Headspace app, creating a playlist for working and focussing. I'm not interested in downloading the Headspace app, so could anyone tell me what this playlist consists of? I've tried to google around, but found nothing.
Ha, ha. No generalization, just sheer observation through 20+ years. But there's the occasoinal Zimmer fan inbetween; hoping someone has actually downloaded the app and can give us a heads-up (or Headspace-up)!
I just downloaded the app, and it was annoying, I had to add my credit card and you can't get to the list of Zimmer's choices right away. I have to listen to the entire playlist for 85 minutes and Shazam the tracks I didn't recognize.
I am about 7 minutes into the playlist and don't know any of the electronic music played so far.
I will post his choices later if I can identify all of them.
It just seems to be just some bland electronic music by people I have never heard of (and I say that as someone who has a genuine interest in electronic music).
Seems like pure marketing from Zimmer's side, no quality music so far I would say. I doubt he picked this music himself even, but who knows.
Here is a 8 minute excerpt (bad audio and taken from around 40 minutes into the Zimmer playlist on the headspace app), I uploaded it to Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-768393213/zimmer
Do you think this is Zimmer's music, Thor? I think it actually is his music. In other words, he didn't make a playlist of others people music for the headspace app, he composed like a 85 minute suite for them it seems.
Yes, that works. No, I can't identify it as Zimmer, at least not with that sound quality, but the continous loop thing could be edited to SOUND continous. This is a mystery.
Thanks for doing it, Linae! Much appreciated. Personally, I sensed some great music in that clip you played, but I need to hear it in better sound first. Let's see if anyone else chimes in on the subject!
