It was good to see you as always Les. Thanks to all for doing this again. Lots of good discussion, everybody on form. Had a lot of fun, although I think my vocal version of Pat Williams' HOW TO BEAT THE HIGH COST OF LIVING might actually have been Claude Bolling's CALIFORNIA SUITE. I'm sure you all noticed and just didn't want to make me feel bad.

There were a few good recommendations too, which I'll have to seek out on YouTube. The Mundell Lowe one(s) which Onya mentioned had me intrigued. Was it "TV Action Jazz" and "Complete TV Action Jazz"? Are those two completely different albums?

Lovely chat as always last night guys. Still managing to be the highlight of the week after all this time.

I'm wondering if I might appeal to the hive mind.....?... (I know, I know... I'm very appealing to you all)

Interestingly enough, given last night's topic of "films your friends would be surprised to learn you haven't seen," my potential one day mother-in-law has tasked me with putting together a list of "films she just really should have gotten round to seeing by now."

She's appalling when it comes to watching stuff, so I don't particularly look forward to watching her sit through some of the ones I have in mind. smile But I'm thinking there are three clear categories I can sell things to her on....

1. Some of the titles that are always (and rightly so) on the big "BEST EVER" lists
2. A film which she might have a pre-conception about, but it might pleasantly surprise her. (Ahem... Mark... Rocky)
3. Something worth watching based on sheer scope and spectacle and film making achievement.

Of course, I'll be talking a lot about the music for pretty much everything that gets watched. So she'll probably walk out of the room before we even press play.

I reckon I can get away with about 15 films on the list. It's never enough, I realise. I have some of my own ideas, but what say you gents? Any cracking suggestions? Obviously we all have our favourites, but I'm trying to avoid just making her watch 15 of my favourites, because that's not really the point.

You make a point sheriff, if anyone has any huge lists of suggestions please feel free to email me. My address is in my profile. Let's leave plenty of room for 60's ice lolly ads smile

He's deffo not a violence lover. But Lawrence and Godfather are certainly already on the list. Hadn't thought of Cool Hand Luke. Love it.
