The most frightening score in the last years and surely one of Young's best horror soundtracks. Nothing less than a masterpiece! A pity, no one is talking about it on this forum...
I liked but it is not for everyone. The 3 Lustmord tracks that open the album (and the other 2 that he and Young co-composed) are the typical sound design with voice effects that you hear in most modern horror scores.
The Christopher Young tracks are similar to what you hear in his scores to Pet Sematary and Sinister, but the two final tracks of the score are simply gorgeous - 10 minutes of beauty that I'm listening over and over.
It's always a great treat to get a new Christopher Young score, and an even greater treat to get a Horror score in October from the maestro. This one is fantastic, really recalling the sound he created with Sinister and I was hoping he'd return to eventually. And to top it off this one features a breathtaking Lacrimosa requiem in the penultimate track. I always love when Young gets to work with choir. Highly recommended for Horror score fans.
