By the way, you knew that this is not his first nomination, in 2014 his soundtrack was nominated for an Oscar!.

That’s incorrect. A Walk Among the Tombstones made the shortlist but wasn’t nominated.

BTW, if you are interested, you can find Cinematic Sound Radio’s interview with Rivera at

The final track Sygrayem is the most sublime scoring in any medium in years. A truly transcendental moment of filmmaking.

We watched this series on Netflix after hearing loads of great recommendations from friends and family, but we both found it really drawn out, slow and underwhelming.
It was a slog to get through the 7 episodes, but we continued, in the hope something exciting or unpredictable would happen (it didn't).
Its production values were solid enough and the acting was decent, I suppose, but overall I think it was massively overrated.
The music was okay in places (the last episode was particularly strong) but in the main, it sounded like a phoned-in Alex Desplat score with a modern/minimal classical bent.

I was! Best new series I've seen for aaaaaaages! I was absolutely gripped from start to end and was actually gutted when it finished.

Fabulous series. The score is quite good in context. Not sure I would listen away from the show but it was excellent in the film/show. It felt like a film more than a tv series.

You are right about this. To me, it was really good in context, but not so much outside the show.

So, I'm guessing this is yet another title of which a cd release isn't going to happen. :/

Show was OK, score was OK. But I don't get all the adulations they're getting left and right, sorry.

I'm afraid so. I wish the labels would do more TV-shows like this or 'Bridgerton' which has an excellent score by Kris Bowers.

Im a late watcher of this series. So far ep3. I didnt clock who had done the music, but as episodes wore on i thought This screams Desplat and i truly thought it was him.

If Carlos can write as well as Alexandre, then he must be pretty good.
