2001: A Space Odyssey: 8 My first time seeing this (dodges thrown keyboards). Technically brilliant and engrossing for most of it's running time, but that "Jupiter & Beyond" epilogue threw me. What the hell...?

Paulie Canya' BELIEVE it??? Paulie When I watched the trailer for this movie in a theatre years ago, I wrote it off. NOW, all these years later, a good friend hands me the homevid, and urges me to watch it. I'm a sap...especially for a time-lapse flick like this one. I laughed, I wept. I love Paulie. I give it a 10. So sue me.

The Christine Jorgensen Story as a film - 3 as camp - priceless When this first started, I thought it was a parody or a hommage a la "Far From Heaven," but it's real. I asked this older woman at work and she said it caused quite a stir in the 70's. Info below from sundance channel: directed by Irving Rapper YEAR 1970 89 MINS, Color If this melodramatic - if not unintentionally camp - biopic about the first American to undergo a sex change operation brings to mind a Bette Davis weepie, perhaps it's no coincidence. Veteran Hollywood director Irving Rapper (NOW VOYAGER, DECEPTION) helms this well-intended adaptation of Jorgensen's best-selling autobiography, sympathetically following George Jorgensen as a boy who prefers dolls to footballs, through his career in the army and his eventual visit to a Danish clinic, where George is surgically transformed into Christine. Marqeutte EDITOR Grant Whytock COMPOSER Paul Sawtell Bert Schefter CAST John Hansen Joan Tompkins Quinn K. Redeker John Himes Ellen Clark

"Are we talkin' about Paulie Shore here???" NO! Paulie 1998 Starring Tony Shalhoub, Gena Rowlands, Cheech Marin, Bruce Davison, Jay Mohr, Buddy Hackett & Hallie Kate Eisenberg. It's a "Children's Book" movie (rather like Stuart Little) all about the title character, a talking parrot. An enchanting story, a great cast, fine direction, and a wonderful score by John Debney propels this kiddie film into the realm of "Cult Classic", in MY Never-To-Be-Humble Opinion. MY FAVORITE MOMENT: When The Original Willard(Bruce Davison) is confronted by...a rat. One of those "nudge-nudge-knowhatimean" movie moments that'll give older filmgoers a good belly laugh! This is a lot of fun!

"Hollywood Homicide--6" ...and that's where it opened last Friday...at number 6 on the boxoffice chart. Very disappointing performance for Mr. Ford, especially after that K-19 stinkbomber. He must be BEGGING Lucas & Spielberg to get Indy 4 going!!! This is sad...
