STAR WARS---In the new book THE STAR WARS ARCHIVES: 1999-2005, George Lucas gave a definitive comment on if Greedo or Han Solo shot first in the controversial cantina scene, "I never designed Han to be a ruthless killer. All the good guys shoot in self-defense. When I edited the scene in 1977 you couldn’t tell who does what."

ZACK SNYDER---Zack Snyder said he could not direct a STAR WARS movie, "I think I've gone over this a little bit in the past. I am a huge STAR WARS fan. The reason why I started making movies when I was 11 years old was because of STAR WARS. For sure it has been a huge influence on me and really got me into this mythic path with the Joseph Campbellian take on archetypes and storytelling. Yeah, STAR WARS is that to me. I have interest in STAR WARS. I don't think I have a story written now that... I don't know how I'd fit into the STAR WARS universe anymore. Like, I... I don't know what it is. So it's a thing I love, but I don't know if I... maybe it's moved on from me. I still love it and I have lightsabers everywhere around the house."

WE CAN BE HEROES---photo released of Lavagirl and Sharkboy from the Robert Rodriguez/Netflix movie.

BULLET TRAIN---Michael Shannon has joined the cast of Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Masi Oka and Zazie Beetz in the movie based on the Japanese novel MARIA BEETLE which is about five assassins on a bullet train.

DEXTER---plot details for the 10-episode revival miniseries were released, "Set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the revival sees the character now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami." Marcos Siega is the director.

FANTASTIC BEASTS 3---Mads Mikkelsen denied reports he is the top candidate to replace Johnny Depp as Grindelwald, “Oh, that is on the rumor basis as we speak. So I know as much as you do from the newspapers. So I’m waiting for that phone call.”

CLEAR LAKE---Ruari O'Connor, Colin Hanks, Diane Guerrero and Nelly will star in this Buddy Holly biomovie.

TRIVIA---in DEATH ON THE NILE, based on the Agatha Christie novel, Hercule Poirot (Peter Ustinov) is assisted in the murder investigation by Col. Race (David Niven). In reality, during World War II, Pvt. Peter Ustinov was Lt. Col. David Niven's batman (orderly) while Niven starred in the movie THE WAY AHEAD which was co-written by Ustinov.

All the good guys shoot in self-defense. When I edited the scene in 1977 you couldn’t tell who does what."

Greedo had a gun on Han. Greedo stated, with gun (or “blaster”) in hand and pointed at Solo, “I’ve been waiting for this a long time.” Han, knowing his life was in immediate danger replied, “I’ll bet you have!”, and shot the son of a bitch dead—in self defense.

Where is the moral quandry in this? Are The Star War fans so brain dead—wait, don’t answer that—that they could not determine whether or not Greedo was there to kill Han?

I hope none of you would be so trusting of those such as Greedo, who would take your life just as soon as they would spit on the sidewalk.*

*Thankfully, we live in such enlightened times that no one would ever endanger anyone else.

George Lucas is just full of sh*t! Always has been regarding this matter. I don't know why people insist on digging themselves into a deeper hole. Admitting you made a mistake is apparently the biggest sin a person can make nowadays.

Nice going Patty. Great advice from a selfish idiot. I'm sure some people will get sick and/or die just to see your f@cking film.

I love Star Wars, and I have great admiration for George Lucas, but put bluntly, Lucas is a terrible source when it comes to the development of the series. After the fact interviews have him routinely changing the narrative, including Greedo shooting first, the number of Star Wars movies he planned to make, and just about any other inconsistency that has come up in the series over time. Is it so hard to say "I changed my mind" or "we didn't have all the blanks filled in, and once we did the story evolved"?

I see it as a big push to get people to subscribe to HBO Max. At least WB isn't making subscribers pay extra to stream the movie like Disney did with Mulan.

At this point in time I'll be happy to blame it on dementia.

Of course, second from left in that photo from The Way Ahead is none other than William Hartnell. Sweet.

When the Ewoks suddenly represented the Viet Cong, I knew Star Wars was best relegated to my
early childhood.

As much as I make fun of it, Star Wars, up to and including Empire, was fun to experience as a kid; I have great memories of those years.

By the time of ROTJ, it was time (for me) to find other things.

Imo it’s more a case of Lucas attempting to make his Saturday Afternoon Serial deeper than it (never) was.

The sooner people can accept that Lucas has turned into the 21st century Gene Roddenberry, the sooner they will realize that the series has moved on from his vision and taken a life of it's own, whether for better or worse.

Why did Woke Disney give her an Asian sounding last name when she lives in a galaxy far far away? Seems kinda racists to me.

ZACK SNYDER---Zack Snyder said he could not direct a STAR WARS movie

Well, Snyder sure as shit can’t direct a decent Superman movie so why should he fare any better with Star Wars?

Not wasting my breath on you. Unless I get Covid, then I'll invite you to see Wonder WooMan in the theater with me.
