I must agree that the delay is frustrating. As the recording is now complete and has been sent to those who contributed financially I cannot understand why there is a delay. I have every sympathy with Mr Fitzpatrick's health issues as I have similar issues myself but as I say the recording is complete and packaged so surely there are enough employees at Tadlow to commence distribution even if Mr Fitzpatrick is unwell. If he is unwell surely there is all the more reason to distribute the recording in order to take the pressure off him.

In the UK under current lockdown measures, non-essential businesses are closed. I think as proprietor James could go in but his employees could not. So if he is also unwell... that's it.

Tadlow isn't a huge label with a mass of employees waiting to ship CDs to the public. I think you'll fiind it's a one man operation with James doing everything. When he's ready to make it available to the wider public then it will happen In the meantime a little patience will be helpful.

We have just to wait and see now.

Yes it would be good to have this before Christmas.
However, seems to me, the world really needs some true healing miracles at this time.
When these happen the new recording of King of Kings can become the true soundtrack of 2021.
Stay well everybody!

Given that this project has been many years in the making, such that one or two of us have likely passed on since it was first mooted, I'm wondering what your definition of 'a little patience' is.

(And since I have my copy I have no skin in this game. But I do have sympathy for those still waiting).

There is a big difference from demanding the product now to someone ,in the know, typing his reply from his Covid free house regarding the future general release of KING OF KINGS. Now I will await the comments from those who post here who I call " the protectors of the realm".

The contact info for Tadlow was posted in this thread. Anyone here can only speculate.
I find it so wierd that some of us are getting insulted for contributing to the fund to get it made in the first place.

I'm sure glad I did sign-on, and I will for any future project. If I like the score, it's worth the wait.

Discogs has created today the product and you can take it on the wantlist, but there is no seller by now.

Amazon presents the disc as "unavailable".

The sense of entitlement from one or two individuals is pretty appallling. Only those who laid their money down in January 2018 were entitled to anything.

Anyway, James has now responded and confirms he's a one man operation and has been ill and a release date is forthcoming.

Communication is surely the chemistry in all this debacle and it surely wouldn't be that difficult or unrealistic for Tadlow to give out a press release on the actual date of release of this CD and keep one informed.
Taking Jame's health into consideration is of course most paramount, and hope that he is making a speedy recovery.

Press releases and regular information updates don't always make a difference. For example, like when the King of Kings Kickstarter was announced and in-progress, and many people did not respond and chose not to take part.

I don't know. I've looked over this thread without finding any great sense of entitlement. Impatience, frustration and disappointment certainly, but after several years of anticipation those are to be expected. The good news is that, unless you're a huge purist, this release is probably worth waiting for, and I say that as one who isn't always enamored with Tadlow releases (though I'm always grateful for them). In short, it's possible to enjoy this recording without recourse to the original, to get the spirit (if not always the letter) of the score and not feel you're missing anything, or that any outrageous alterations have been made. No, it's not a substitute for the original but an addition, and a welcome one. There are even minor gains, like the elimination of reel change pauses and a certain increased clarity in the texture of the Prelude that lends more drama to what to me is Rozsa's single greatest cue. I like it, and if it turns out to be James's swan song, it's not at all a bad effort to go out on.
