I seem to have managed a near lifetime of appreciation for the great Elmer Bernstein without ever having heard his lovely score for this movie.
Following a viewing on Talking Pictures TV in the UK I'm now looking to acquire the score on CD. Any recommendations?

Well, the Kritzerland release is still available. A twofer - the "Tin Star" from the same year is a western with that unmistakable Elmer sound that we love!

I generally dig Elmer Bernstein and his style of music, but this two-fer, which I bought in a Kritzerland sale some time ago (I think...it was $10 from somewhere) has never really stuck with me during or after plays.
I've given it a whirl 2 or 3 times, but the only thing that stays with me afterwards is the traditional piece Greensleaves.

TIN STAR is his most memorable early western for me.

Both scores are prime Elmer.
