I have to say I'm pretty annoyed they found the "lost" final to X-Files Fight the Future and now they want me to invest in this set, which I own none of the previous ones, to get this cue. You can't assume people who bought the film score are getting these sets. Labels really need to figure out a better solution than this type of practice. I get they might not have had access to certain material at the time, but when we are talking about 1 track that is 3minutes, you'd think they be able to throw a bone to customers. Let me preface by saying that the absence of this cue is my only negative about the expanded score. In its current form, the album IMO ends with a whimper because it's missing. Yeah, I'm disappointed that the only way to get it is on this set because I don't own any of the others and have no interest in buying a $50 set for a single cue That being said... If the cue couldn't be found at the time, then it couldn't be found at the time. Should they have scrubbed the whole project in the hopes that it would one day be found? I'm not exactly sure what you would expect LLL to do in this case. If they re-press the movie score with this new cue, people would complain about having to re-purchase the album. If they re-press with the new cue and offer it as a replacement disc for direct customers, they would 1) probably take a financial hit that might be feasible and/or 2) people who didn't buy it direct will complain. If they put it up on the site as free download, there will still be unhappy people--probably complaining "no disc = no sale" or some other gripe. Yeah, I'm disappointed. Yeah, it would've been great to get it on the film score. But to vilify the labels because of this is unfair and, to be blunt, petty and immature.
