I don't want to get into the sausage making process too much but I'll say that I'm a longtime fan of the show and that it was a great honor to work on these albums. All those years of pining for this music and I never imagined I would find myself in the position of helping make these albums a reality.
Mark had input on each assembly and gave his blessing.
I'm curious if the various music already had names by Mark Snow or if he or others named them as they were being put together for the CDs. I got the impression that Chris Carter suggested the latin track titles for the old "Truth and the Light" CD, but some of those same tracks have different names on these new CD sets.
omg just watched the episode MAX again and the music during the plane/abduction is amazing and intense - never noticed it before. At least we have three tracks from this episode so far
I follow The X-Files soundtrack discussions from the beginning, before they were just planning to release volume one. I just registered to be able to post something. Yes, the missing slipcase from volume 4 it's a bummer, but, does anybody's thinking what I am thinking?

Right?! I wanted that track above all else. I campaigned heavily for it to be included. I think I posted four or five times about it and included detailed info to identify it. Such an epic track but sadly it was left off. You can her small bits of it in some of the other tracks but not the full glory that is contained in the full track when Agent Garrett is abducted by aliens mid-flight in S04 E18 Max. Such an iconic X-Files moment, it baffles me that they didn't consider it worthy. They should just release a disc of that entire episode's score.
