I've lost track here. Spymaster's posting was about Goldsmith's THE 'BURBS. And this is really available as HD (24bit/48khz) download (!) from Qobuz. At least in Europe. Link above in Spymaster's posting. So why this talk about iTunes etc.? When it's not available there...? So what? Buy it from Qobuz.

Questions--and this may have been answered already so I apologize in advance. When buying a download direct from Varese's site, do they send a pdf or scan of the notes or are those not included with the digital releases?

Also, Varese's website seems to not indicate in any way the resolution of the files you're purchasing. Unless I'm missing it, there's no way to know if the FLAC files are 24/192 Hi-Res, 16/44 CD audio quality or what. Then make your purchase based on wanting to have CD quality files. Which, by the way, will sound great. They have forever; still do. If whatever files they are offering are worth the price of CD music, then go for them. If they turn out to be better, you got a great bonus, and if not, you got exactly what you wanted, likely well worth it. Some of these are out of print, and there's the music! But if you want hi-res music (not just hi-res audio files packing CD quality), then make sure first that that's what you're being told is available, as Tom has been careful to check, and then if they are, sadly, you'll have to verify that you actually got hi-res music, too, whoever the seller is (but especially if it's Qobuz, who have not corrected their Inchon wording, even though they've known better since June).

Just purchased THE MATRIX and PAYCHECK for digital download. I was emailed the links to download immediately after the purchase. The email contains a link to a download page where I had the option to download each score in MP3, FLAC, ALAC, and WAV formats. Each format lists the size of the download for the respective files. Once the file is extracted--unless I'm just not seeing it which is I suppose possible--there are no additional liner note files or anything of the sort. I decided to download in WAV format because reasons and I will say it's got a nice punch to it, especially THE MATRIX, which I'd only ever heard on the original release.
