I am completely blown away by the amazing score for THE LITTLE DRUMER GIRL by the incomparable Cho Young-Wuk. Thank you to Silva Screen for 2 cds worth of fabulous music.

This just topped my previous #1 Gina and Chantal by Joris Hermy. I will post my fave scores at end of moth waiting on my WW84.

I'm not familiar with the composer. Can you tell us more about the score? Instrumentation or style?

Since barely anything made it to CD, it's quite simple: LOVE & MONSTERS

Currently working on my top 10 of the year, which will be a podcast that I hope to finish next week (in English). Won't reveal anything untill then.

But Jo Yeong-wook, as I write the name, is probably South Korea's most famous film composer. THE LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL didn't do that much for me, but I'm a big fan of THE HANDMAIDEN and KUNDO: AGE OF THE RAMPANT, in particular. There's also that 'story' that Jo Yeong-wook doesn't write all of his own scores, but has a team of co-composers, Zimmer-style. I keep forgetting the specifics of this; maybe some Korea experts can chime in. But the end results are great nonetheless - lyrical, accomplished orchestral writing.

Very hard to pick up only one, so it has to be Dolores Claiborne Deluxe Edition. Was waiting for it for decades.

Legends of the Fall released by Intrada.

I rarely buy scores to films I haven't seen but heard a lot of great things about this one. So glad I got it.

My favorite CDs of 2020 are Midnight Cowboy and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Don't make me choose between them!

Cheers

I echo Quartet's rerecording of ENDLESS NIGHT, the highlight of the year for me.

2020 is a blur man! The one major release I can recall was The Land Before Time.
Clearly a grail release for me.
