Bumpity bump.

This series, filmed on location in New York, has great footage of New York storefronts in 1957-58.

So these shows are pretty fascinating, especially if you are into vintage street scenes of New York.

Because the shows are low-budget, there are no sets. Everything is shot at real NYC locales.

Tonight's episode included the Astoria elevated stop, a Greenwich Village coffee shop, and lots of great store fronts.

The ending was pretty dark, far from the candy-coated endings you would find on mainstream shows from this period.

And, the main character is a female cop, a rarity in 1957.

Free on Amazon Prime.

I prefer the remake with Angie Dickerson. wink

Nowhere near as compelling. Obviously, you haven't watched an episode yet.

I beg to differ, Angie is very compelling! As far as this series, I was probably still in diapers when it
aired.

I know you said its free on Amazon Prime but I don't have a Prime membership so how can it be "Free" since you have to sign into your account to watch it?

It is free if you have Amazon Prime.

As far as being "compelling," "Decoy" comes off like an early TV "Playhouse 90" kind of show, lean and mean. And the themes and endings can be pretty dark as compared to lots of mainstream TV of the era.

And I write this as an Angie Dickinson fan.

Sounds like a cool show. I'll watch it if I can find a way to do so.
