Is the super-expanded cd worthwhile? I have only the expanded.

And did the super-expanded one credit the arrangers? I want to know if Skip Martin did "Lose That Long Face" and "Gotta Have Me..."
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Martin did the pre-song combo arrangement of "Man That Got Away" and Heindorf took over the arranging when the famous trombone solo entered.

I have the super expanded and it's definitely a step up from previous versions. There is also an alternate version of Lose That Longface with alternate lyrics that's only available on the Judy Sings Harold Arlen album.
But none of the unreleased songs?
And I'm not sure the background score is worth my while. As I recall Heindorf was selling "The Man That Got Away" pretty-danged hard in his writing. Got on my nerves.

"in the pickle" meaning "preserved for all time".
So: at least a little more JG has been preserved for future fans to enjoy.

Thanks. I'd never heard "pickle" used in that expression before, or did you just cleverly coin it? What I have heard is when it's a synonym for trouble, as in, "Oops -- now we are in a pickle!"

I read it in a book, writ by a Brit, so I imagine it is not American.

It's not really super expanded, it's just the last re-release from Sony with 26 tracks.

You mean the 2004 release? That's the one I have. With the Columbia pink and yellow LP cover.
It's been 17 years since the last release??
Surely they can scrape up some demos of the unreleased songs. They're Harold Arlen songs, fer Kendall's sake!
