I know absolutely nothing about The Time Tunnel. Had to look it up. But with John Williams attached to this, I will seriously consider it. I've been enjoying the other Irwin Allen sets so this may be another purchase for me.
Yeah, I expected it to come out at some point, to complete the Irwin Allen sets. I'm obviously content with my single TIME TUNNEL CD in the ol' 90s Irwin Allen box (which has the Williams material), but good to have all the other episodes available too, for fans of the show's music.
I have a slightly nostalgic connection to the show, as I watched a few reruns on Super Channel in the mid 80s. Rewatched a few eps a few years back too; the first episode is the best (especially the intro with the whole underground facility set-up).
The Time Tunnel! Thank you, LaLaLand! I was hoping you'd get around to doing this series, as I feel it has some of the strongest scores of the Irwin Allen shows.
I thought that maybe all 12 episode original scores together could be put on 4 CDs. If I now assume that there will be 2 CD sets with 3 CDs each, then I suspect that a lot of additional music material will be included. The reused prominent pieces of music by Bernard Herrmann? And other library pieces of music! Or is there something completely unknown here as well? A rejected score? Other unused alternative music? I am pleasantly surprised! After the CD sets from VTTBOTS and TLOTG, which were heavily discussed by some fans because of their incompleteness, I seem to be lucky with my favorite series. Every piece of music seems to have survived the time! When I have the two CD sets Vol. 1 & 2, it will be for me one of the best and most important soundtrack releases since the magnificent STAR TREK TOS CD-box!

They're long scores and when everything was timed out we realized it would be more than four discs. As the show only had one season, I pitched six discs instead of a "best-of" compilation. Thankfully, MV agreed.

6 CDs ! - The Time Tunnel complete! I am in heaven! Many thanks to MV!
There is some AMAZING music on this series. John Williams is the tip of the iceberg (see what I did there?). I'm stoked there is not only so much available to put out, but that it will all be released.

That's great to hear. Only wish someone had gone to bat for a complete THE INVADERS.

THANK YOU!!
I've been hoping for this but I didn't know if the passing of Nick Redman and Kevin Burns would be the end of the project.
Will Jeff Bond's liner notes explain why composers such as Daniele Amfitheatrof and Herman Stein are associated with the series if they didn't write for any of the 12 original scores for TIME TUNNEL? Was Amfi's 1950s film music for 20th Century Studios tracked into segments as stock library music? Did Herman Stein ghost-write for any of the composers?
Below is my guesstimation on forthcoming contents:
Volume 1
Disc 1 Rendezvous with Yesterday (Williams) One Way to the Moon (Murray)
Disc 2 End of the World (Murray) The Day the Sky Fell In (Sawtell)
Disc 3 The Last Patrol (Murray) Crack of Doom (Drasnin)
Volume 2
Disc 4 Revenge of the Gods (L. Stevens) Massacre (Mullendore)
Disc 5 Reign of Terror (L. Stevens) Secret Weapon (Sawtell)
Disc 6 [one CD - two "Death"s! ] The Death Trap (Drasnin) The Death Merchant (Duning)
Curiously, classic DOCTOR WHO with William Hartnell had 2 stories with the same titles - "Reign of Terror" (1964) [with music by Stanley Myers] & "The Massacre" (Feb '66) - before TIME TUNNEL was ever broadcast.
