More bad clues:

Blockbuster prequel for #1 - took YEARS, decades, even, to become a true blockbuster, but I think it did reasonably well on initial release.

Blockbuster prequel for #2 took.... well,.... weeks and weeks.

Giving up?

Clue here: hhttps://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=132815&forumID=1&archive=0

Well, this should probably close it out, since I either give away too much or too little in my clues.

The link above plus the following should nail it:

HE'S STILL ALIVE.

And as always, if you figure it out, POST CLUES NOT THE ANSWER.

Still no guesses? If I throw in the name "Kubrick" would that help?

2010?

Yavar

No, Peter Hyams directed that film. In fact, I don’t think Kubrick had any involvement in 2010.

I know. I’m saying it’s a sequel to a Kubrick film.

Adolf Hitler in an hour-long TWILIGHT ZONE is still alive!

Oh, God - you wizard of Zardoz - you old boyfriend - return to 2010, Norma Rae.

Conversation over; 1-2-3. Take that!

Okay, step-at-a-time....

Here's his filmography: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0006288/

And here's a clue: "Since it's a sequel, it's got a number in its title. And it ain't Pelham 1-2-3."

I mean, I think it was a rather different yellow brick road he walked down, for it to be considered a sequel, exactly... that’s almost like calling Die Hard a sequel to The Detective.

Oh David, you Devil! I think I know what the third one is though...
