Your thoughts on this score please. Is it worth getting?

I haven't played it in ages, but I vaguely remember it being in that small scale Horner ensemble mode, similar to things like CLASS ACTION and UNLAWFUL ENTRY (without the thriller bits of that one).
It ain't essential, but if you like Horner scores, you will find something to like in this too.
Hope that helps zoob.

This is Horner keyboarding in on a piano and a synth (maybe with an EVI too?). Theme is, for better or worse, lifted with minor modification from Chopin's Berecuse (Op 57; D Flat Major). Its a VERY low key effort. But its also heartbreakingly gorgeous in a way only Horner could pull off. If you can find it for the right price its worth it.

Made a quick comparison and you are spot on. Has James Horner ever composed any music at all? Legit question.

I am a BIG Horner fan, but this score was underwhelming in every way.

I don't think it's a particularly egregious example by Horner standards. It's definitely inspired by the piece and starts with the same couple of notes but the modulations are appreciably different. Goldsmith and Williams have done the same thing frequently. It's different from HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS or GLORY or ALIENS, where there are lengthy sections of pre-existing music plugged in without any variation whatsoever.

Nope!
It was ONLY James Horner who ever did this (pilfer from the classics and other scores).
Not Williams.
Not Goldsmith.
Not Jerry Fielding.
Not Christopher Young.
Not even Bill Conti or Philippe Sarde.
JUST James Horner.
NEXT!!!

It's subdued, low-budget piano and synth Horner, but pleasant and melodic. Someone above compared to UNLAWFUL ENTRY; I guess the ensemble is the same more-or-less, but it's certinaly more sincere and less monotonous than that score.

I picked up a Sealed Brand New one on ebay for $15.00 with Free Shipping.

Very ONE NOTE feeling about it and 37 minute run time.
All the tracks sound basically the same. Nothing stands out, nothing special.
Just low key Horner and friends on the piano. Okay , but not a "Beautiful" or "Emotional" Theme at all.
Seems uninspired.

If you can get it for under $20.00 with Free Shipping go for it.

Some sellers have it for $40 to $50 - Way too much for too little for me.

I'm happy I got it for $15.00 with Free Shipping.

There's a current offering on ebay for $16.99 or Best Offer with Free Shipping.
