The fossa, a cat-like creature in Madagascar, is small, carnivorous and lethal. It can and does take on animals larger than itself.
It spies its prey and charges it dead-on from the front. It moves with lightning speed, and a startling maneuverability made possible by its long tail.
The fossa bites down on the animal's face, usually the nose, to disorient the victim. While still biting down, it reaches forward and begins slashing away at the prey's throat with its claws, so it will bleed to death.
Do you charge anything physically bigger than you, face-first, to kill it with your bare hands?
I played football last night for the first time in over 6 months, after doing the garden for the first time in about 7 months. I can barely circumnavigate our house at the moment!!! I don't feel special AT ALL!!!!!
We've been taking long walks along Waterloo beach most days, Bill, and yomping through the dunes on the way back. Plus, I took my bike for some rides these past few weeks. But none of that prepared me for the hour of hell last night.
Ha ha. After your break body aint used to 5 a side now, kev, its a killer. I remember years ago my neighbour was a runner. Superfit. I kid you not one day we were driving along and he fkn overtook us running on the pavement! Scary fit. One day he asks if he can come to 5/6a side outside footie in the cage with me. He comes along..starts running around, getting stuck in. With 20 min to go hes throwing up in the corner and in the morning he couldnt get out of bed and could hardly walk for a week!!! Different muscles n different type of fitness to straight line running.
So, TG, do you actually call the cinema 'the pictures' or was that just for effect?
In these parts we tend to go to the pictures. Occasionally, in polite company, one might suggest a visit to the cinema. In my experience, the phrases are rarely interchangeable.
I’m afraid you owe your dad a fish supper. Or fish’n’chips, according to your preferred vernacular.
(And while I’ve got your attention, I’ve been meaning to ask if you’ve read the science fiction works of Ted Chiang. If not, I think you’d really like them.)

I haven't. I'll take a gamble on your recommendation though.
