Too bad i can't get this track on Youtube ( i must be the only one on this planet who had the chance to discover this version... maybe not ! ) So good that when i played the original score album i sold it ! All the tracks are done almost in the style of Hugo Montenero's but his energic PETER GUNN theme sounds like Lalo Schifrin. Its a pity that this version was not the original for the series.

Anybody could get a link here ? I have it on cd and on my computer but i don t know if there is a way to get it here.

Has this ever been re-issued on CD?

I can't seem to find anything in my collection - maybe I'm just looking at the wrong place.

New to me, too.

But I don't think these are conducted by Henry Mancini. Looking at the Discogs images of the LP labels, these state:
London Symphonic Orchestra and Singers
https://www.discogs.com/The-London-Symphonic-OrchestraLondon-Symphonic-Chorus-Henry-Mancini-Henry-Mancini-Composers-Series-V/release/4727106

and the LP back cover makes no mention of HM conducting.

and quite what ensemble the London Symphonic Orchestra is/was? ... I doubt it was the London Symphony Orchestra!
smile

Maybe faithful versions of the original recordings but covers ... no doubt.

It was likely a studio orchestra assembled for the session, and it quite possibly could have included members of the LSO if they were available.

It's Mancini's original recording with a lot of overdubbed percussion.

Well i don t know anymore if its Mancini who did the album but i do know that the PETER GUNN THEME track makes the original sound like a simple demo.

This one from 1975 is from him and its also better.

By the way, i can also make another post for the PINK PANTHER THEME track, again better than the first movie them.

Believe it or not I DID IT !!!
This track is a masterpiece, and it makes the original sounds like just a simple demo. i always thought it was from Mancini 's direction ! Maybe it is ...
I wonder how many other unknown version of famous themes exist that we don t know.
