Never liked vinyls but I have no problem with vinyl releases as long as they are not ar the expense of CD releases. What annoys me is when a new release is vinyl and download only without a CD release.
(But I have to admit this resurgence of vinyl is beyond me... The most problematic and vulnerable format ever.)

It's all about attempting to recapture the experience of having something cool in your hands while you listen.
I suspect many current vinyl aficionados listen to a digital version while they pore over the physical materials. I do. That Planet of the Apes vinyl package from Mondo is great with the sound chip that plays the "Maaama" sound from the human baby doll in the archeological cave site when you unfold the jacket.
Not just for hipsters; a total fanboy bliss-out attempt.

To hold something in my hands is also important to me, but I would choose the CD, never the vinyl. This craze about vinyls seems to me like if we wanted to go back to horse carriages instead of using cars.
