Yes great work but just a wee thing. ...I’ve always looked for a recording of the song VAMP by Grace Jones ( why was this not on the soundtrack?!) and although some folk seem to say that the ‘seduction surrender’ song is pretty much it..it’s really not.

I'm a Lene Lovich fan, and I've always loved that track of hers from Tuff Turf, written by Elias. It is, I believe, the only Lovich recording that wasn't written and/or produced by her or Les Chappell, her guitarist and husband.

Is it possible that Elias has tapes of John Barry's Bells?

I haven't really compared the two. Elias called the two songs "cousins".

Reading it again and I really applaud your passion for the work of the man. It’s kinda sad when you read it and see just how little is actually released.
When I first heard Children Of The Corn I was just blown away and still think it’s one of the best horror scores to this day. It made me watch for his name and led me to Vamp and Two Moon Junction. Loved them! I also love the main title he did for Leprachaun 2 and it was a shame the rest of the score didn’t quite match it. Couldn’t get into his ‘comeback’ scores so much though. When I heard Pathfinder I couldn’t believe it was the same guy and the Children Of the Corn remake was such a disappointment to me. Again..a great piece on his career though.

I guess 6 albums on Varese are not too bad, but it's sad that several of his best scores are unreleased. TUFF TURF, SHAKEDOWN, FAR FROM HOME and STREETWISE should really be available, perhaps even MORNING GLORY and SON OF NO ONE.

I'm not very familiar with Elias's scores, but for about 5-6 years I saw film Tuff Turf. Very cool score! Was very apsed when he discovered that the score had never been released. I hope to see it someday ...
I also listened to Vamp and Two Moon Junction. By the way, the latter is also very much to my liking.
Thank you for your work First Breath! For some reason I missed this thread.

Thanks. A Tuff Turf score release had indeed been incredible.

I'm curious to know what you think of the opening and closing credits to this:

Wow! Very cool score! I especially liked how beautifully and effectively the female voice, saxophone and piano are combined together (and I heard a little guitars). Damn, this is one of the most beautiful unreleased scores I've heard until recently!
We urgently need to contact Donald Borchers and ask if he can somehow influence the release of this score! big grin
Oh that would be a great release ...

Tonight I will try to extract music in less noisy scenes.

Glad you liked it, it's one of my most wanted unreleased scores.

The "love theme" from 1:09:15 is brilliant too.

I don't know if Borchers can help with that, I have mentioned it to him. Maybe if I owned a record label. :-D

Jonathan Elias and Fritz Doddy don't seem to be particularly interested in releasing the score.

It's a very pity that such good score can disappear forever ...
