This is a new documentary that has just been released. It features the unsung female pioneers of electronic music. Names such as Delia Derbyshire, Daphne Oram, Bebe Barron, et al, and is getting rave reviews.

Now, that's quite a coincidence. I've been having a look at all the Delia Debyshire stuff which is up on YouTube, just to get an appreciation of what she did. I must admit I was never really a "fan" (I somehow never got into Dr Who or its theme, even as a young kid) but it's nice to get some perspective on her pioneering importance.

Yes, I've been meaning to check that docu out (great name, btw). That, along with another recent documentary about women in electronic music called UNDERPLAYED. But I need to find a platform that shows it first.

Here is an interesting review of this films. People here will certainly recognize examples like Forbidden Planet and Doctor Who.

For UK viewers, this Sunday 16 May, BBC4 are showing a documentary called Delia Derbyshire The Myths and Legendary Tapes.
Thought it might be topical.
