Thank-you so much for this -- it was gold, truly. smile

I have to say, I have always been wistful that John Williams did not record more of his scores with the London Symphony. From the start it was a special relationship, and each of those Williams LSO scores were "big events" -- even Monsignor (which, even though it may not have been a great movie, nevertheless had a great score).

I think it was appropriate to record things like CE3K, E.T., The River, Rosewood, etc. in Los Angeles, but I really feel the Indiana Jones sequels should have been recorded by the LSO. The LSO inaugurated the Jones scores, and their ”old school" artistry was so suited to Raiders.

It would have been nice for the LSO to have recorded Empire of the Sun as well, as the film was a very British subject (and "Suo Gan" was recorded by the Ambrosian Junior Choir anyway). Hook and War Horse would have benefited from that LSO sound too.
