The Empire Film Podcast has a wonderful new interview with Alan Silvestri. Among many things he talks about the new BTTF: The Musical, working with Spielberg on Ready Player One (and having John Williams visiting the recording session), his scores for the Avengers movies (especially the "Portals" cue) and a special anecdote about Danny Elfman. Great stuff.

I listened to it on Spotify, but I'm sure it's on Apple Music and other places as well:

He does! I especially liked how he kept saying "Mr. Spielberg" and "Mr. Williams"... very respectful of him smile

What an absolute delight this was! I’m a big fan of Empire’s spoiler specials, or at least I was before they went behind that blasted paywall, so this was a reunion for me in addition to being fascinating for all the obvious reasons. Silvestri is such an excellent storyteller and joyful human being that I wish he’d start his own podcast just telling stories from his incredible and diverse career. Thanks for the tip! I’ve stopped checking Empire’s feed and never would have found this otherwise.
