Film good? Score good? So far it's looking like a big no on both counts.

So that brings the number of releases up to...10? Is that a record?

Seriously, though, I don't own this. Am I depriving myself of one of Goldsmith's best Western scores or the best?

Hmmm, I will give this some thought. I've bought this one several times over the years and the most recent release from LLL has been my preferred album so I might be okay to skip this new release. But for any fans who have missed out on previous releases, this is a stellar Goldsmith Western score - grab it!

I find myself disgusted how some people have behaved in this thread.

Thank you, Doug and thank you Roger for this release. Thumbs up.

Also, consider that if a future release is "interesting" it's probably out partly because this helped pay for it.

Uh, no more likely it is the 80s, 90s, 20s... and the 2CDs that pay for these types of releases.

One of Jerry Goldsmith's finest scores...I already have it, but I'll certainly be buying this new edition, it's that good !

For those who think it's the OST, it's actually the 1989 Intrada re-recording.

And it deserves to stay in print.

I own it and hardly listen to it.

For anyone whining about this release, try to think beyond your own collection to those of new fans, new interested listeners and how important it is to keep titles like this in print.

It's wonderfully performed by the London Symphony Orchestra!

The original film tracks for Rio Conchos have only been released three times

1 in 1999 by FSM (OOP)
2 in 2014 by Kritzerland (OOP)
3 in 2018 by La-La Land (still in print - https://lalalandrecords.com/100-rifles-rio-conchos-limited-edition-2-cd-set/ )

The 1989 re-recording Jerry did with the LSO is owned by Intrada, and also released 3 times

1 in 1989 (OOP)
2 in 2013 {with "End Cast" and 2 previously unreleased alternate takes added as bonus tracks} (OOP)
3 this new release

I'm glad it will be back in print for all to enjoy, and it's great it will be available both on CD AND as a digital stream/sale - including high res!

Win/win all around.

One of Goldsmith’s best western scores, and more importantly, hands down THE best revisit/re-recording he ever did of his work (in this case two works: Rio Conchos, and my favorite thing he ever wrote: The Artist Who Did Not Want to Paint). If you don’t have the album, it’s a must buy.
