...I guess I don't think Onya means any harm... he and I have had positive interactions from time to time in other threads and I like to assume the best of people whenever possible. It's perfectly valid not to like the cover art on this release, and if that's really a deal breaker in terms of acquiring it, then so be it...

Not sure what this was in response to, but the cover art is not a deal-breaker for me, it's just that it didn't exactly push me over the edge. That and the fact that I was not blown away by Spys. Maybe I will pick it up in one of Intrada's shelf-clearing sales.

While I wouldn't label myself a Goldy fan per se, I have probably 35 or so of his albums in one format or another. I'm always eager to check out releases from what I consider to be his key period, roughly 1959 to 1979 or '80.

Hi folks,
Out of curiosity, how's the sound quality on this version of The Stripper as compared with the FSM version? I really love this score and would consider rebuying it for the upgrade if it's worth it.

I haven't A/Bed the two and even if I did my equipment isn't too fancy...but if you're that big a fan of The Stripper I'd say upgrade for sure, because the final cue (end credits) on the FSM was presented once in stereo (damaged) and once in mono (undamaged), whereas here it appears only once, in stereo I'm pretty sure, which must mean Mike Mattesino did his restoration magic on it. Can anyone else confirm that?

I finally listened to S*P*Y*S; whoa, what a zany score, and lots of fun. Very catchy tunes, musically, it's like Yavar said a bridge between the 60s jazzy Flint scores and the latter, whacky Joe Dante collaborations. Lots of musical quotes in there, from "Tahiti Trot/Tea for two" to Beethoven's 5th, bouncy synthesizers...
Yes, I had never heard this score (or seen the movie) before just today. I picked up the "Goldsmith at 20th Vol. III" release of this and THE STRIPPER, as I didn't have these in any prior version.

I really enjoy S*P*Y*S, it's a wholly original, funny score. Would be interesting to compare this to the score John Scott wrote for it.
