Hi folks

I have always wondered why an lp of Rozsa's Quo Vadis was never issued on MGM's Silver Screen Soundtrack series alongside Ben-Hur (Both Albums) , El Cid and King of Kings. There was also a compilation album that featured Ivanhoe, Plymouth Adventure and Madame Bovary.
There was one track on the More Great MGM Film Themes album - Triumphal March conducted by Rozsa - according to the sleeve.

Regards

CC

I think the fact that the original soundtrack album was extremely short combined with the fact that the tapes were destroyed in a fire before the film’s release might have something to do with it, but this is purely guesswork on my part.

Thanks - very ironic the tapes were destroyed in a fire.
The Rozsa conducted Decca and Nic Raine recording are both excellent
The Prague Philharmonic seems to have perfected the 'Rozsa' sound.

If you listen you should hear some Poledouris, as well.
