I wonder what composer has had his projects used the most, because when I hear what's stolen, Herrmann does come too mind a good few times, guess BH was that special!
I hear "Part of Your World" from THE LITTLE MERMAID, when listening to Richard Rodgers VICTORY AT SEA: "Beneath the Southern Cross". The theme was later re-used by Rodgers for ME AND JULIET under the title of "No Other Love". I am referencing the notes of Allen Cohen for the Erich Kunzel conducted VICTORY AT SEA. (Telarc CD-80175). But perhaps this is just an existing tango theme used by both composers 30 years apart.

That tango is original to Richard Rodgers. During production of Victory at Sea, it was determined that a tango type theme was necessary for some particular footage. Rodgers obliged. Here is his original sketch:
Doesn't "Klingons" sound awfully like a cue from Wolfen? Couldn't find a clip.
He uses some of the major motif of KLINGONS on COMBAT DROP- I am kind of positive thats why they scrapped that track.
I'd be very surprised if producers would even worry about, or even be aware of such things.
One of those cues, "Combat Drop" is a rather thematic military track that sounds just a tad too much like Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan for my liking - I can see why Cameron chose to drop it. It's just a tad too upbeat and optimistic (with hints of the disaster to come), and was replaced with a martial drum pattern credited to Harry Rabinowitz. It's unfortunate that the Rabinowitz cue wouldn't be included on the album - it would have been a great addition!
Thank you, Lacoq. I assumed that was the case but did not want to cast hasty aspersions. Richard Rodgers worked mainly in musicals and one would think Ashman and Menken would be aware of his work and tunes, and maybe that's just one that got stuck in their head and came out in another nautical story. But it is so close to " Beneath the Southern Cross" , that one could karaoke "Part of Your World" to it.
...If one were to engage in that sort of loutish behaviour which I know no one on this board would do...unless one were drinking one night and show tunes popped unbidden into one's head.
Wouldn't I love, love to explore that shore up above? Out of the sea Wish I could be Part of your World
The Telarc compilation I mentioned also contains Rodgers other dramatic documentary work: WINSTON CHURCHILL - THE VALIANT YEARS.
For Hans Zimmer's Angel & Demons and Inferno scores there's a theme that sound very much like Christophe Beck's Buffy/Angel love theme...! Was he inspired? Or just coincidence? lol!
You can also hear his Flight theme from Man of Steel in both of these movies.
