Thx...yes only the FSM release is the one to get for me..I´ll try. It's not a lot of data, but filtering down to look at only items that sold on Ebay, the last FSM Ice Station Zebra CD went for ~$42. Sometimes the asking prices are not the whole story, so you might be able to make offers on some. In my experience, if you look around on a few sites and wait a bit, you can get some things for more reasonable prices than you'd expect. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw="ice+station+zebra"+"CD"&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&rt=nc&_odkw="ice+station+zebra"+"fsm"&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1

Just watching this on Tcm...halfway through got the INTERMISSION as they are preparing to leave the sub, and then ENTR'ACTE played over a picture of the sub underwater. Excellent.

In the same boat here since I missed this too. A few extra cues ended up on WHERE EAGLES DARE cd (I think) which Thankfully I have. The extra Ice Station Zebra tracks can actually be found on disc 2 of the Shoes of the Fisherman set FSM put out. That disc also has the original album for Where Eagles Dare. A wonderful set which is worth tracking down.

I watched Ice Station Zebra for the first (and so far only) time abot 10 years ago after buying the invaluable FSM CD and enjoyed it very much, but the film seemed much smaller than the music, its claustrophobic settings giving it more of a stage play atmosphere. Legrand's score, so stirring and majestic, is one of my all-time favorites! I remember seeing it at the Uptown Theater in Washington DC in 1968. The huge screen made those shots of the sub under the ice more intense. Everyone was on the edge of their seats. Legrand's music gave that epic feel as if we were on a unique adventure unlike any other. Today, the outdoor scenes are diminished by the fake backdrops and the plastic snowflakes that movie magic, such as this film, are all too common for the modern day audience to accept as real. But the music, oh the music, is and always will be massive.
