There's several separate releases listed there, including the FSM cd. About the same price on ebay.

It's not a lot of data, but filtering down to look at only items that sold on Ebay, the last FSM Ice Station Zebra CD went for ~$42. Sometimes the asking prices are not the whole story, so you might be able to make offers on some. In my experience, if you look around on a few sites and wait a bit, you can get some things for more reasonable prices than you'd expect.

Just watching this on Tcm...halfway through got the INTERMISSION as they are preparing to leave the sub, and then ENTR'ACTE played over a picture of the sub underwater.

Excellent.

I came to the game too late, by the time I did most of the titles I would have loved to get my hands had been sold out esp from the FSM catalogue, this with Where Eagles Dare, The Comancheros .....

I am hopeful that some will get reissued, they still seem to be popular, like the recent 'Scalphunters' even with a Ltd release.

The extra Ice Station Zebra tracks can actually be found on disc 2 of the Shoes of the Fisherman set FSM put out. That disc also has the original album for Where Eagles Dare. A wonderful set which is worth tracking down.

Yep. I got that one thankfully. The EAGLES standalone cd set is great too.

I watched Ice Station Zebra for the first (and so far only) time abot 10 years ago after buying the invaluable FSM CD and enjoyed
it very much, but the film seemed much smaller than the music, its claustrophobic settings giving it more of a stage play atmosphere.

Legrand's score, so stirring and majestic, is one of my all-time favorites!

I remember seeing it at the Uptown Theater in Washington DC in 1968. The huge screen made those shots of the sub under the ice more intense. Everyone was on the edge of their seats.

Legrand's music gave that epic feel as if we were on a unique adventure unlike any other.

Today, the outdoor scenes are diminished by the fake backdrops and the plastic snowflakes that movie magic, such as this film, are all too common for the modern day audience to accept as real. But the music, oh the music, is and always will be massive.

One of the great things about Film Score Monthly CD releases was the complete package treatment they gave to each and every release. The releases not only covered the music itself in perfect chronological presentation with bonus alternates and cues in superb remastering but the overall liner notes covering the history of the film, the composers history with project and the detailed track by track liner notes and vivid artwork all made for an engaging experience. This quickly set the standard of how a film music sound track should be done and the labels quickly adopted this. Looking back I've been slowly acquiring some of these ultra rare OOP FSM cds which I had missed. Upon advisement I have procured these so I can relive all the gushing fan boy excitement of those times.

Just added Legrands superb ICE STATION ZEBRA in the fold along with a bunch of other rarities to enjoy. Thanks to Lukas Kendall for keeping the flame burning. Half of these are still available at Screen Archives Entertainment. Keep discovering.

I shared this one thing in common with Howard Hughes, our love of Ice Station Zebra.
I wish I could find a reasonable price for the score CD

Not just modern audiences. Believe me, even in 1968, audiences of which I was a part, thought the phoney North Pole snow and ice scenes looked very poor. As many reviewers have said, the film is fine up to the end of part 1 but after the submarine breaks through the ice the film falls to pieces both in plot and set design!
