It's Barry and that's simply the way he worked. He's like your favorite old comfy blanket that feels exactly the same each time and you don't want it any other way.

One thing that does add to the sense of repetition, however, is that he tends to find a particular key for his themes to live in and then sticks with those for every occurrence. Transposing them to another key is relevantly infrequent.

I'm anxious to hear it!

However, I still haven't received an Order for this CD I placed with LLL back in July! Tried several times to reach LLL through (various) emails, but...alas... nothing.

This is the first time I've had any lag in shipping or communication with LLL.

Anybody out there...?

For me, this and Star Trek II are the two greatest releases so far this year. And both on La-La-Land!

Agreed. And Intrada's Sleepy Hollow and The Eiger Sanction.

O.K., La-La Land, you hooked this Somewhere in Time score skeptic by sampling "Is He The One? (Alernate Excerpt)". That rendition of the main theme doesn't suffer from the faster-tempo, more initially intense performance that all the other album versions did.

It takes the time to build at a better pace, then really hooks you with that Rozsa-like slurred legato at the end of the sample.

Barry was the only other composer who knew just when to employ a good violin slur, in my opinion.

Haven't pulled the trigger on this one yet.
Wondering if LLL has any more tricks up their sleeves after this one-two punch of Somewhere in Time and Trek 2. What a year of releases.

Only just noticed that track 9 is previously unreleased so nothing to compare to - someone needs to merge these threads
